Rebel Up Nightshop #3: Dust-to-digital, Majid Bekkas, marrabenta, Hausa pop, Dembow

Broadcasted on Radio campus Brussels (92.1 FM) on March 22nd. While Rebel Up! partner dj Sebcat was getting high from chicha and altitude in the Peruvian Andes, Rico & Leblanc did a little duo show. The 'label focus' is on the American record label Dust-to-Digital, specialising in the production of historical recordings and images. Album of the month is by the moroccon gnawa artist Majid Bekkas, who did a concert in Brussels the early March. Skipping the 'global style' and 'nightshop' chapters (for technical & time reasons), we took some more time for a non stop music mix for the second hour of the show, hopping from Mozambiquan marrabenta, over Malian coupé décalé and Nigerian Hausa pop; to a more Carribean oriented end with digital cumbia, slow and fast dembow.
