Nightshop show #96 for June via Radio Campus Bxl with +3 hours of new global sounds, also broadcasted via Rhythm Passport & Groovalizacion. Our songs of the day are a remix of a Touré Kunde tune and th Brooklyn Super Yamba Band with Ghanaian singer Osei Korankye. Our albums of the month begin with a spiritual jazz EP by Shabaka Hutchins via Impulse, to more spirituality via the gnawa by Moktar Gania & Gnawa Soul, the southern latin jazz funk by Rhabdomantic Orchestra via Agogo and the percussive jazz by Daniel Villareal via International Anthem. Continuing with the deep rough griot meets noise rock sounds by Avalanche Kaito via Glitterbeat, the laid back funk by Napolitan duo Nu Genea, the tropical zouk compositions by The Balek Band via Abstrack records, the bouncy Colombian cumbia by Romperayo via Souk records, Maga Bo’s new opus on Afro Brazilian music via Kaxambu records and rough South African gqom via trio Phelimuncasi on Nyege Nyege Tapes.
