Festival Season - Midsommar #2

A second DJ set dedicated to the film, Midsommar by director Ari Aster. Hope you enjoy.

My review (no spoliers).

Set at a festival in Sweden, Midsommar is a, psychedelic and grim visual feast. This is a must see.

Although a slow burner I was fully sucked in from the depressing beginning to the unpleasant ending. The cinematography is beautiful; it is full on psychedelic. The best way to describe this film is Rosemary's Baby & the Wicker Man (literally) on acid. I have never seen visual effects get drug induced visuals so spot on. It honestly made me feel very weird. In terms of horror; think tv series of Hannibal, it is grim. Although few & far between when this film is messed up it is really messed up.

Throughout I was captivated & unnerved. It's not all bleak though there is some humour. The juxtaposition of the, psychedelic beauty & pure nastiness really brings the shock value home.

To conclude, it's fucked ... can't get it out my head but I'm ok with that lol
