Following in the footsteps of SHOES 05: Mahsa Amini's Shoes, SHOES 06 focuses on the ongoing anti-government movement in Iran. Inspired by the restlessness of those who continue to fight for their collective human rights, SHOES 06 gathers rhythms that speak to the seismic potential of the uprising and what it could mean for the future. This episode includes recordings from diaspora and non-diaspora artists as well as non-Iranian works that, for us, embody a global or historical need to collect and rise up. Sharing recordings made by those who refuse to be silenced, we are reminded of the political language these sounds form over time.
