Ladies of the Lakes / Hend Kheiralla with Olu Alabi / 24.01.22

In the very first episode of Ladies of the Lakes, Hend interviews Mrs. Olu Alabi, Manager of Thamesmere Library. They chat about her journey as a librarian, why reading is important, and her work revolving around community development.

Mrs. Olu joined Greenwich Libraries in 2010 as a Senior Library Assistant. Passionate about culture and identity, Olu has introduced and promoted cultural activities such as Yoruba Story/Rhyme Times and the Afro Caribbean Reading Group at Greenwich Libraries, alongside other seasonal activities during Black History Month and International Women’s Day. She has also contributed to community development through leading/coordinating activities such as Knit & Natter, Coffee Morning, Reading Groups, Baby Rhyme Times etc. in the library.
