This month on North of the River Swan deviates from their normal show format to present the teaser of a personal project from Jesse called "Sounds from the anxiety front line".
“I’ve always been a worrier and an over thinker, but it wasn’t until my late 30s that I started to develop significant issues related to anxiety.
It took me a while to admit to myself that I needed support with my mental health. It wasn't easy to to embrace that vulnerability and admit to someone that I needed help. I finally spoke to my GP and was referred to some good people who’ve helped me develop ways to manage my mental health.
I’ve always found some relief through sound, so today it's 2 hours of tunes that help me manage my anxiety.
The mix is bookended with Brian Eno’s Thursday Afternoon. At some point I recommend you read through the youtube comments on this tune, make sure it’s the 61 minute version though. It’s full of beautiful stories about how this song has helped people - Jesse”
