This month's show is based on a chance find of a few Burger-Highlife records at a boot sale in Peckham. Thank you very much Sandra, your records are in good hands! Burger-Highlife has nothing to do with McDonalds but everything with the German word for citizen (=Bürger) and the original genre of Ghanaian popular music (=Highlife). Mainly recorded by West-African immigrants to Germany, but also other countries around Europe it is truly beautiful music, that will get you out of your lockdown rut.
