Description
The shows name draws inspiration from an era when Grime producers and MC’s would press exclusive, white-label dubplates, by spraying metal discs with acetate, and then cutting them with a diamond lathe. This was the only affordable option. Thanks to the Tottenham based cutting studio ‘Music House’, the Grime scene was able to thrive. The acetates were then distributed amongst sound systems, DJ’s, and pirate radio stations such as Rinse FM, Deja Vu FM and Heat FM. Grime was for most listeners an almost entirely non-visual genre during its formative days. This is the result of a lifetime compiling tapes and records.
