It's the first of the months and we will be returning to the theme of our first-ever broadcast: focusing on lesser-known names from the golden era of soul, funk and r&b in the US from 1960-1980. Whether it's Wendy Rene's collaborations with Booker T or Arnold Blair's work with Leroy Hutson, a lot of important, often female, musicians slipped through the cracks of the historical record during this musically rich period, despite their influence.
