Polley Music Library Show: The Williamsburg Avant Garde

On this episode of the Polley Music Library Show, we talked about a fascinating new book that documents the fertile music scene that developed around the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn from approximately 1988 to 2014. We looked at some of the major themes of the book, like building creative communities despite the steady march of gentrification, and we listened to some examples of music made within this scene.
