Polley Music Library show: The Organic Music of Don Cherry

On this episode of the Polley Music Library show, we talked about "Organic Music Societies," a fantastic book that documents the period between 1966 and 1977 when trumpet player Don Cherry and his spouse artist and designer Moki Cherry collaborated on multidisciplinary performances and workshops they called "Organic Music." With lots of primary sources, photos, and lots of Moki's artwork, this book captures a particularly fruitful period in both artists' lives. We listened to some of Don's music from this era, too.
