Polley Music Library KZUM show: Ornette Coleman and harmolodics

On this episode of Polley Music Library program on KZUM, we'll talk about a recent book by Stephen Rush about free jazz legend Ornette Coleman and his "harmolodic" concept. It's a method of music-making that remains somewhat elusive to those outside of Ornette's immediate circle, but through personal interviews and careful analysis, Rush has laid the foundation for digging into harmolodics. While we're at it, we'll hear a few examples of harmolodics in action from Ornette and a few jazz and rock players who also have been steeped in the harmolodic tradition.
