Today, I'm sharing something a little different from my usual sessions. Back in the late 80s and early 90s, I was a huge fan of megamixes. The godfather of this art form was, and still is to me, the legendary Ben Liebrand. These mixes inspired me to become a DJ, combining everything I loved: Hip Hop, Rap, House and Techno.
With this series, I want to bring forgotten musical treasures back into the spotlight. These are not my own mixes, but original megamixes that I want to present as musical time capsules, preserving a piece of music history and the memories they bring back.
I'm starting with "Turn Up The Bass 1991 Megamix", produced and mixed by Koen Groeneveld & Addy van de Zwan. I've owned this CD for 35 years and still love it today.
Some of you will remember these classics, while others may discover them for the first time. I hope you enjoy this journey back in time as much as I do.
