Our show will focus on how our experiences in the African diaspora have influenced how we share and process our artistic heritage, cultural praxis & production in communal spaces.
Starting from the struggles of adaptation caused by the physical movement/ removal of generations of Africans to the digital apparatus of social mediums, we use to build networks of communication, exchange & connection: we seek to understand how the development of our cultures of resistance have periodically influenced our relationship to music production & consumption.
In asking ourselves the following questions:
Who is the diaspora? How do we locate it through space and time? How do we manage to navigate historically white creative spaces all while honoring our political heritages?
