"We hosted Ugandan artists Nilotika for a workshop and concert in Kibera. Together with local artists, they collected waste materials around the neighbourhood and turned them into instruments and costumes. The episode features the rooftop concert with performances by Nilotika, Made in Kibera Band and KiCA Dancers. We then veer into Hadithi Hangout where we trace the African Entertainment Unit's role in World War II to the forming East Africa’s first jazz band in 1946. Discover how Afro-Cuban sounds shaped genres like highlife and rumba. And meet pioneers such as ET Mensah and Fundi Konde who laid the foundation for modern African music.
