In 1976 I received one of the best Christmas presents ever from my older brother, a box of 100 7" imports from Soul Bowl Records. It was truly magical looking through the box of mystery records with all those lovely obscure American labels on them that seemed incredibly exotic to two young lads from the North East of England. It was the start of a never ending love affair with obscure vinyl and crate digging in record shops and market stalls in the UK and overseas. This mixtape is from a selection of those 100 records from Soul Bowl that also included Northern Soul obscurities on Ric-Tic and the like, those records will feature in a future mixtape at some point. Looking back now I think my brother created a record collecting monster that year and I have many happy hours of enjoying listening to music to thank him for. Keep The Faith.
