By Nickel City Frequencies
At the beginning there was nothing and from the nothing, someone eventually invented reggae. Several decades later, new innovators would develop a sound based around the low end bass of the reggae dub, aka the reggae backing track, without vocals but with effects turned up. In the early 2000s the sound took the world by storm with tracks like "Midnight Request Line" by Skream. The genre has experienced piercing highs and utterly humiliating lows over the years however a dedicated group of producers has kept the dark sounds and grime infused sounds of the past alive. Today that thread of dubstep is alive and thriving. Lead boldly by such Canadian producers as Distinct Motive, Wraz., Torcha, Substance, Mythm, Abstrakt Sonance and Khiva. Some of those artists are in this.
