Description
This Hour 2 mix is a nice exposition of a lot of the recent output from Tempa (and I've got even more to play). After a long period of silence that label is back releasing music and it feels like they've decided to go in a deliberately different direction from the format and sound that they were previously renowned for. This was the label that released Skream's "Midnight Request Line" and was a defining influence in dubstep throughout it's tenure. The recent releases tend more towards dark garage and techno with varied BPMs across EPs as opposed to the coldly technical, swaggering 140 that characterized the releases immediately prior to Tempa's hiatus. This mix also includes some new stuff off Nervous Horizon, Hessle Audio and from Hodge and Lurka, two producers who I've recently grown an interest in.
