Doing another experiment this week in Hour 1 inspired by a chat I had with Jomari last year. We had been talking about DJing and one of the points that we really agreed on was that rap and hip hop is one of the hardest things there is to DJ.
That talk got me a bit inspired and after finding a bit of stuff that I was interested in, I ended up going down an entire rabbit hole of new music in 2024 that I probably wouldn't have been exposed to otherwise. If you've listened to some of my previous episodes you know I'm no stranger to playing hip hop in my mixes but this episode is different because it is the first time I've showcased a lot of the brand new music (for me) that I've picked up, as opposed to the old banger I've thrown in typically. There's also plenty of jungle/'ardcore/drumfunk in here as well.
I wrote too much for a description here so shout out Bozack Morris, Daniel Son, Asun Eastwood and all the other dope artists in this mix. Check out HEKS in Hour 2 as well.
