Decades of digging up video game music from the deep, launched me into the world of visual novel music. It’s vast and uniquely hard to fathom, an interesting field for contemporary music archeology. Following historical, fictional and/or experimental storylines, music composed for visual novels specifically excels in the cross-pollination of cultures, genres and atmospheres. Representing the power of diversity in the video game industry (either underground or AAA), visual novel music has been an inspiration for years, and for years to come.
