Featuring music from Sam Waymon, Josephine Baker, Remi Kabaka, Jimmy Cliff, and many more, this show explores the era which saw Black filmmakers across Africa, the Caribbean, the Americas and Europe step behind the camera in greater numbers, creating rebellious and questioning films about politics, identity, history, love and style, against the backdrop of African decolonisation and a rising radical Black consciousness.
