This mix is a showcase of outsider magic. I've been hesitant towards the term 'Outsider Music' for a long time. I dislike the way it gathers a sort of marginal otherness, rendering voices as weird and musical practices as strange. It becomes a sort of pathology, a commodified brand of everything deemed without value. Yet the practices gathered by it I find magical. I am obsessed with these often accidental experiments and their forgotten yet radical forms of creativity. For this mix I wanted to bring together a selection of rediscovered, wayward recordings which I love dearly, and I invite the listener to take them seriously, to get lost in them.
