Nabihah Iqbal Presents Alien Kulture - 15th December 2024

"An exploration of Alien Kulture - a British-Pakistani punk band formed in London in 1980, probably the first band of its kind, who gave a mouthpiece to the British Asian punk kids of that time, against the backdrop of increasing racial and socio-political tensions across the UK.

This band is often overlooked and left out of the story of the British punk movement, but their existence was a vital detail to show that music and youth culture transcended racial barriers and it wasn't just black and white kids, but brown kids too. "
