Curated from archival digging, this mix by Juan Duarte explore new ways of holding memory of traditional Música Caipira through overlooked voices ( POC artists, women, and the under-documented rhythms of Brazil’s Centro-Oeste (Mato Grosso do Sul, Goiás, Minas Gerais). Spanning 1950–1990, the selection traces the plural pulse of the region: chamamé, polca, bolero, corrido, batido, forró and rural Guarani influences. Many tracks are deeply narrative, often folding spoken word into melody; sequenced here to explore semantic connections between stories, styles and geographies.
