Digicore & More Soundcloud Roots w/ DJ Smoovbrain - 27th December 2024

I got into this genre the first spring/summer of the pandemic, and throughout the next year, as it was bubbling up on Soundcloud, and stuff was hot. I didn't know what it was called. I think it's digicore and hyperpop, sort of. I thought of it as an amazing window into what kids were doing when they were supposedly in remote school.
It is characterized by amazing beats, awesome hooks, and earnest verses which often make me cringe but I am happy people can express themselves so earnestly.
