“Crouching Tiger” blends a wide range of sounds — from Chinese opera and folk to ambient, contemporary electronic, and experimental music created by East Asian artists. It explores the connection between real and imagined roots. Beyond the environment I grew up in, much of my connection with my roots is shaped by memories and emotions evoked by music and film. This mix also includes many pieces from films such as The Last Emperor and The Swordsman. The title is drawn from Ang Lee’s Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
