GOLDEN YEARS 135 - REMEMBERING BUDDY, RITCHIE & THE BIG BOPPER

This Golden Years Special looks back at one of the saddest days in Rock 'n' Roll. On 3rd February 1959, we lost Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper. Matt Shepherd looks back at The Winter Dance Party Tour and the tragedy that has become known as "the day the music died". There's hits from the three stars, tribute songs from Eddie Cochran, Don Maclean, Mike Berry and Alvin Stardust. There's songs The Big Bopper wrote for other singers, plus music from other acts who were part of that Winter Dance Party Tour.
