I have loved the dance music scene since its birth in the late 80's and began raving regularly in 1993 until 1996 when I felt a massive change and transformation taking place that seemed removed from the "peace, love & unity" motto from the first "summers of love". I consciously went to my "last rave" in 1996 where I went out with a bang - dancing on stage at World Dance! But the music never leaves your soul and as soon as my sister introduced me to the new emerging sounds of UKG I was instantly hooked! This uplifting music that sampled soulful vocals alongside old skool rave sounds - I just couldn't get enough! I have been itching to do a UKG mix, but it is not so easy to find the old skool tracks that I loved from back in the early days. Up until now when an amazing friend of mine passed on some 600+ tracks to fill my boots with - HAPPY DAYS!! So here it is, just for you, my first ever UKG mix!! I hope you enjoy this fusion of uplifting vocals along with some heavier basslines! LL <3
