This week Swimmers talks to musician, journalist and author Patrick Freyne. Penguin books have recently published his acclaimed first book called 'OK, Let's Do Your Stupid Idea' which has been longlisted for the Rathbones Folio Prize. It is a hilarious series of essays in which Freyne catalogues the many stupid ideas he has tried in his life. Chief among them, writing, recording and touring in the 90s/early noughties indie bands. Although as Patrick points out, you never truly become an ex-musician, in fact he believes everyone should try being in a band at least once, and would sooner trust a musician than most business people he has come across.
