Description
Swimmers chats with Northern Irish folk singer Joshua Burnside. Having released a couple of critically acclaimed albums (his first Ephrata winning the Northern Ireland Music Prize), a clutch of EPs and countless singles, Joshua recently released a collection of outtakes and demos from his 2020 album 'Into the Depths of Hell' called 'Higher Places'. They discuss the long road from demo to finished recording, looking at his track 'Driving Alone in the City at Night' which he reveals is actually an ode to his late sister. We also speak candidly about the love/hate relationship with touring and habits formed, plus a new love of collaborating. He finishes with a hilarious tour story from his time in America. A refreshingly honest conversation about life in Belfast as a songwriter today.
