Description
Today, Swimmers Jackson brings us the final episode of Pears for Lunch - Series One.
Irish folk legend Andy Irvine joins him for an hour. Having toured and recorded for over 60 years with renowned folks acts such as Planxty, Usher's Island, Sweeney's Men and with Paul Brady, Irvine is one of the finest exports of Irish/Balkan/Americana music. Following in the footsteps of his hero Woody Guthrie, he has made something of a name for himself as a tireless troubadour.
They discuss his song 'Never Tire of the Road' and how it has defined him. They also discuss gardening, acting in the BBC, songwriting and player's block, friendships, touring, the concept of fame, and a must hear tour story that ended up with him being held at gunpoint on his own in Bulgaria.
