Description
Ian Rothwell in conversation with Sue Astles about her Uncle artist Harry Ousey whose centenary exhibition is on at Salford Art Gallery from 28th March to 5th July 2015. He was born in Manchester in 1915 he spent most of his formative years exploring the rural areas of Cheshire and Derbyshire before deciding to move to London to train as an architect. However it is said that a visit to a Paul Nash exhibition changed the course of his life forever. He gained most of his knowledge by observation and conversation with artists who were willing to share their ideas. He took his inspiration from the abstract forms in nature such as drifting clouds, patterns made in rocks over centuries, the movement of water and mists that would roll in over the Peak District. Also an interview with trumpet player Helen Hall about how she got started and her collaborations with SheedyFrost. Paul Frost also is in the studio. 9/4/15
