Ian Rothwell in conversation with duo Rebecca Costello and Martin Hart of Purple Rose. They talk about their writing and singing. Martin writes the music and does backing vocals and Rebecca writes the lyrics and sings. They were first on the show in the middle of 2014. Martin and Rebecca were in the top 3 places of Battle of the Bands and have travelled down to London on numerous occasions to play their new songs. They also like to play classics from the past such and are inspired by the likes of Nina Simone, Ben E King, Elvis Presley. Etta James and Johnny Cash. Martin's background is blues / rock whilst Rebecca sings jazz / blues. Ian is joined in the studio by Stuart Heydon from the School of Sound Recording and fellpe presenter Jill Bowyer. 14/4/16
