We remember the Bicentenary of the Peterloo massacre, Ian Rothwell in conversation with Paul Fitzgerald of the Peterloo Memorial Campaign talking about the event of 16th Aug 1819 & launching of the Six Acts to reboot democracy that everyone can be involved in proposing & voting. The Memorial Campaign works to ensure the circumstances & massacre are not forgotten & that democracy is not lost. Also about Prof. Robert Poole's book Peterloo The English Uprising a definitive account of the Peterloo Massacre of 1819 in Manchester, where the English pro-democracy movement met its Waterloo & contains many eye witness accounts. Also an interview with Jannine Hague Project Manager Peterloo 2019 of the Manchester Histories about exhibitions & events taking place at The Peoples History Museum & others. Also Stephen Colegrave the Director of the Byline Festival, including BTO60 which is taking place this weekend in Pippingford Manor Park in Uckfield, Music from Featured Artist Waking Day. 20/8/2019
