Ian Rothwell in conversation with Emma Fahy and Joanne Squires from St. Andrews C.E. Primary School in Boothstown. Jo is the Lead Teacher for the Schools Direct Programme and Emma the Lead Administrator and want to raise awareness of the School Direct route into teaching and explain what it can offer to trainees, the opportunity to train in an outstanding environment and achieve qualified teacher status. St. Andrews is very proud to be the first Primary Teaching School in Salford. They support other schools, train staff and recruit and train new teachers and are the lead in the Primary Teaching School Alliance made up of a number of Salford partner schools. St. Andrews won the M and S Energy Fund Judges Award for receiving over 6,200 votes winining £12k to enable them to upgrade all the school lighting to new LED units.
