SiaM which stands for Schubert in a Mug is a musical project formed in August 2020. In a short space of time the group has established a strong following, among music lovers with their monthly sold out concerts and recitals. Why Shubert in a Mug? Cellist Phan Đỗ Phúc explains the name. Western classical music has a plethora of composers, each with their own personality in terms of their compositions. For Phúc, it was Schubert whose style best matched the personality and direction of the music group he envisioned– smaller and more intimate. SiaM is a project established to bring the beauty of classical music to its audience in a warm and personal way. Each month SiaM holds one event which combines music and conversation with the audience and to particularly bring classical music to a wider audience.
