In this show DJ Bobby Gonuts will pull a collection of tracks from the deep well of library music. Library music is music that is recorded for the purpose of being used in films, TV shows or on radio programs. This began as a way for companies to save money by not paying musicians to write original soundtracks for films and instead selecting music from a catalogue offered by record companies like Bruton and KPM. Library musicians incorporated elements of various genres into their albums and also did some fairly earlier experimentation with electronics. Today you’ll hear a range of sounds from library tracks recorded between 1960 and 1980.
