On this week’s show I’m joined by an artist whose sound moves between soul, jazz and disco, with a bass‑driven warmth that feels very much rooted in London’s new jazz wave. Performing under the name Red Bird, Lithuanian singer, songwriter and producer Dalia has been carving out her own lane.
She’s also the mind behind a new monthly live event in Peckham called 'Peckham on Acid Jazz': a Sunday evening of uptempo, improvised acid jazz, soul, funk, disco and open jam vibes at The Greyhound.
We’ll be talking about how she got into music, the worlds she’s building through her songs, and how Peckham on Acid Jazz is creating a space for musicians to come together.
