Description
You know the deal: you're out walking and you get abducted by aliens, your mind is transported into a semi-organic body made mainly of stone and you have to fit back into society. It sounds like a premise for zany superhero antics, but Concrete is strikingly everyday and norm, all things considered. An awkward 2-ton lump robbed of his old life and gonads, rebuilding a family of damaged sidekicks.
I posted a mesmerising panel from Paul Chadwick's 80's cult series and fellow fan Charles spotted it a mile off. "fancy doing a soundtrack to the series?". "Erm, yeah, OK". Neither of us had read it for ages, so we bumbled out way through, reminding eachother of the surreal stories. You didn't really want to hear an hour of nerd-talk, so we laced it with our own soundtrack, including Unit 4+2, JJ Barnes, Saada Bonaire, David Byrne, Sinatra, Callier, Scott-Heron and a touch of Moondog, obviously.
