We sat down with Elijah Lawal, author of Stereotypical Me, a non-fiction book about perceptions in and of the black community; using science, history, and cultural anecdotes to see if they're true.
Each chapter addresses a different stereotype, ranging from "Where are you from...originally?", "Is it true what they say about black guys...down there?", and "Why do black people like fried chicken?"
Elijah chose a song that relates to each chapter, and our discussions went from there.
