Description
Following a visit to Nan Goldin's new exhibition 'Sirens', we talk through the themes and impact of her photos. They document her friends, lovers, acquaintances - including drag queens, cross-dressers, transsexuals and third sexers, all captures with an honesty, intimacy and vulnerability.
Goldin's exhibitions set her photos to music in slideshows, and we feature much of the music she uses on this show. It's an amazingly eclectic mix that includes The Creatures, Dionne Warwick, Velvet Underground and Nico, Smokey Robinson, Randy Newman, This Mortal Coil, Bronski Beat, and Charles Aznavour.
The exhibition runs at the Marian Goodman Gallery until January 11th 2020.
