Description
A playlist of 150 African Women on Spotify was the inspiration for this show. Well, listening to too much Yemi Alade was the starting point and I wanted to see what other afropop sung by ladies over the ages would appeal and this is the result of that. We tough down in Cameroon, Equatorial New Guinea, Niger, Nigeria, Mali, South Africa, Ethiopia, The Congo (both DRC and the Republic of.., i think), Kenya, Zimbabwe and, of course, Ghana. With tunes from the 60, 80s and modern ish stuff, mainly big tunes from these scenes, but a lot of them were new to me. A can of earworms.
