This week’s theme was Back to School and included some punk, hip hop and 50s and 60s numbers.
For our spotlight on London slot we couldn’t help but name it London Calling – we played the seminal song by The Clash and a song by Julie London.
Every week we are holding the Charity Shop Challenge, where we both unearth a record from a charity shop with limited choice and budget - Maria picked a song by the Lightning Seeds and Matt opted for a bit of 80s cheese from Mel & Kim. Vote for your favourite via our Facebook page or Twitter and we will announce the winner next week!
Second half of Postcards from Spain, Inigo Ruiz-Apilánez Corrochano called in from South Africa and will be telling us about his musical discoveries every week! Finally Maria taught Matt the meaning of a Spanish song in a bid to help him a learn a bit of Spanish beyond ordering a beer in a bar.
