This week Liberty was joined in the studio by artist and curator Gary Mansfield and Gallery Director of Jealous East, Louise Fitzjohn. They came in to talk about their latest charity exhibition in Shoreditch, 'FaceValue3 'Dirty Work''. All proceeds are being donated to the Katie Piper Foundation.
After inadvertently being used as a drug mule and incarcerated in the 90s, Mansfield's identity was forever changed. Likewise, Katie Piper also had her identity changed at the hands of another. This body of work on display emulates this very concept. An artist donates a piece of work which is then added to, changed or completely destroyed by another artist who has been paired with them - forever changing its identity.
Pop down to the contemporary screenprint studio Jealous East, on Curtain Road from the 18-28th July to see the incredible collaborations with artists including Rankin, Sarah Maple, Ronnie Wood, Bill Dags and even Mansfield himself.
