Young British-Bahraini trumpet player and composer Yazz Ahmed visited me this week to talk about everything from jazz and rock to feminism.
Commissioned to write a suite on 6 inspiring women, she'll be leading an all-female ensemble at the Women Of The World Festival On 8th March. With new material on the way, you can also catch her performing at Jazz for Labour this Friday alongside Arun Ghosh.
There's new music this week from vocalist Ben Cox and Bassistry, as well as tunes from Led Bib, Emilia Martensson, Chick Corea and EST.
