Vocalist Irene Serra of jazz-pop outfit Isq joined Tina Edwards this week. With a new album, Isq Too, out March 16th, Irene talked about the various international inspirations behind it. The band also includes Richard Sadler, bassist and founding member of the Neil Cowley Trio. You can catch them at their album launch gig at Pizza Express Soho on April 29th.
Tina plays Polar Bear's brand new single Don't Let That Feeling Go, from the album Same As You which is out March 30th. There's also new music from Natalie Duncan with a slight indie-pop inspiration. Matt Anderson's Wild Flower Sextet also get a play. If you like what you hear, post a tweet with #JazzStandard today for your chance to win their new album, inspired by saxophonist Wayne Shorter. There's plenty of banter between tracks about Tina's visit to the Swing Patrol Ball, and her experience of Billy Cobham at Ronnie Scott's, too. Lucky things.
