So, set aside those hasty [and frankly unreachable] resolutions and sit down to the latest Bop as we talk how the Great Gatsby remake will be “too dope for words”, evident utensils and honour the Queen of Soul.
This week kicks off with the R-I-O-Teus return of Kathleen Hanna and her late 90s solo endeavors The Julie Ruin as she teams up with Vaginal crème Davis [naturally] for their latest effort, ‘Girls Like Us.’ Whilst the Themed Playlist sees us play sonic sound tribute to the induction of the very first woman into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Aretha Franklin. US rock veterans, Chicago treat us to some “rock and roll with horns” with their aptly entitled ‘Along Came A Woman’ whilst Jarvis Cocker and co pose a more quizzical approach to the subject matter as he coos “Do you remember the first time?” Well, now you do.
