It was a full house for the Easter Pop-Up this week. Normally, I'm on me jack todd playing a perfect blend of new and vintage music, banging on about new films and awarding Harry Moore with Tweet Of The Week.
However, this week, I welcomed Nakila (Phillipa and Phil) who charmed us with their laid back lullabies like the very catchy No More and a cute cover of Don't Worry Be Happy.
The posh biscuits were also dished out to Mark McCabe and Andrew Lynch, two Dublin lads who have written an engrossing play called Death Row Cowboy, currently playing at The Courtyard Theatre, Hoxton till 12 April. They were joined in the studio by Mick Fitzgerald who's written music for the play. Mick performed his song October and gave us a great cover of Sunny Afternoon.
I saw the play after the Pop-Up on Saturday Night and loved it! Don't be put off by the heavy theme: it's also very entertaining with lively performances of the songs, not to mention the amazing cast.
