At The Counter with Emma Underwood & Behind This Wall

Our guests this week were Emma Underwood of Manchester’s Where the Light Get’s In in Stockport. Emma came down to chat all about The Switch, an initiative brought to us by The TMRW Project, helping nurture the next generation of hospitality hopefuls. The Switch sees people in front of house roles switch places with another front of house person at a different restaurant. There they can learn new tools of the trade, see a different style of service and more! They also spoke about pet peeves and the restaurant scene in London vs Manchester.

At the Counter's second guest was Alex from Behind this Wall on Mare Street. The small bar hosts a happy hour Tuesday through Saturday 6-8pm with £4.50 cocktails and £1 oysters. Tuesdays they have Poke and over the last month they have hosted an wonderful list of chefs such as, Magnus Reid, Carl Clarke and Rob Sachdev on Wednesday nights.
