shasti (they/them/dia) is a transdisciplinary artist, organizer, performer, and DJ born in Jakarta, currently based between Berlin and Bochum. Treating each DJ set as a form of transportation magic, shasti’s sound is intended to craft a world that’s only possible on the dancefloor: a cathartic utopia of fantastic tales, mysticism and gothic hardcore. Their style blends experimental post-club hard dance with fast-paced j-core, while forever exploring evolving mutations of traditional club music through Southeast Asian sonic pleasure.
shasti organizes with Nusaqueer Diaspora, a community platform and event series for queer Indonesians in diaspora; part of the B2B-focused club series General Affair; and contributes to the ESEA-centered multidisciplinary platform AN8X Festival.
